CARRIE: oh, if only i knew...

MORGAN: Since my mind is moving in all kinds of directions lately, I figured a totally random arrows-doodle seemed fitting for this week's original art!

comfort zone

CARRIE: This little drawing is from Keri Smith's blog, The Wish Jar Journal. I think it resonates. Today she also had a quotation that goes along with the idea of changing direction and keeping on your toes: "I really think it's important to be in a situation, both in art and in life, where you don't understand what is going on." ~John Cage

MORGAN: There are some times that I think it would be nice if life itself could be as straightforward as this beautiful packaging. { design firm: Pearl Fisher, client: Jamie Oliver's home line }

MORGAN: I'm actually loving the rain this weekend...there are just some days that I am happy to have the excuse to stay indoors!

CARRIE: My mom told me last weekend that my grandma would say, "if it rains on Easter Sunday, it will rain for 8 more Sundays." It rained today. Will there be 7 more rainy Sundays?

rainy day

CARRIE: We had an April shower today in Kansas City, so my thoughts are on rain drops. The colors of this "Take Shelter" print by etsy seller, Ashley G, are pretty enough to make a gray day fun.

CARRIE: Well, I have to say that with this post, things are coming full-circle for me. The bikes pattern in magenta is something I created as a part of the portfolio I used to get the very job I have just left. Today, I re-colored it and designed the single bike with the colorful wheels to coordinate with it. Life is pretty funny right now, but it's certainly colorful.

MORGAN: So thanks to this blog, apparently, this week I have bikes on the brain. I have driven down this street 1,000 times and never noticed this, now shutdown, "Variety Shop" until today! The little bicycle painting in the sign caught my eye and I had to pull over and take a picture. So, I guess they sell bikes, and, oh yeah, of course, couches too! random, but ya gotta love it.

bikes not strikes

CARRIE: These are some postcards my mom found when going through my grandma's collection. Maybe they're from the 60's or 70's? They just make me laugh so I thought I'd share them.
