CARRIE: One thing that I stood out to me in the Rex Ray image above is the circular element in the upper right corner. It reminds me of the spokes of a bicycle. This photo is one that I took of my own bike. It is a 1964 Schwinn American that I inherited from my Grandma a few years ago. She rode it until she was in her late seventies. This image seems appropriate for the changing of years because, while the history of the bike reminds me of the past, the tires and gears represent momentum and forward motion toward the future.
