MORGAN: I know, I know, I don't need another surface pattern book, but this one just wants to come home with me! It's the new Geometric Book by Kapitza! It's not just eye candy though, it's a unique pattern resource book that includes a cd with 100 pattern fonts - the most extensive pattern font collection from any foundry! And...as an extra bonus, it's printed on heavy matte stock (perfect to have out on display) and it's wrapped in an American style poster! yes, please!
MORGAN: Twenty-six interpretations of the alphabet were produced by artists, graphic designers, illustrators and print-makers for the Said Why Eggs? exhibit at The East End Arts Club in the UK in an effort to express pure appreciation for typographic form! Aren't they fun to look at? Some are still available to purchase right here! Read a more in depth description of the exhibit right here.
CARRIE:The Type Directors Club has "invited a group of ultra-talented designers to create a series of posters with numbers as their central theme" to be auctioned off as a benefit for the Type Directors Club Scholarship Fund. The posters will be on display at the TDC office in New York City starting today through June 11th, when they will be auctioned off.
MORGAN: Each year, Matt W. Moore of MWM Graphics creates a custom typeface (and textures) that celebrates his new ideas and visual vocabulary...I would say 2009 is looking like a fun year! The top image is an example of Matt's mad type skills put to work for a t-shirt design!
CARRIE: These images are from an inspiration binder I've had forever. They are all from (I want to say) Italian Vogue from maybe 4–5 years ago. I have held on to them because although this space is a little cluttered for my taste, the way they've done it and the phrases with which they selected to fill their home is still inspiring.
